Utah holds off BYU 20-19 to win sixth straight Rivalry Game

SALT LAKE CITY — Make it six in a row for Utah.

The Utes held off BYU 20-19 Saturday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium to extend their winning streak against their in-state rivals.

It was the first regular-season game between the two teams since 2013. BYU hasn't beaten Utah in Salt Lake City since 2006.

Utah, who led by one point at halftime, extended it's lead to four in third quarter and seven with 2:47 left in the game. Taysom Hill led BYU into the end zone on a 7-yard run with 18 seconds left, but the two-point conversion failed as Utah's defensive line swarmed Hill as tried to score on a quarterback draw.
