Utah announced that they were cancelling their annual rivalry basketball game with BYU because of their worries for the safety of their players. This was after Nick Emery was suspended for punching a Utah player in this year’s game (which national media outlets cast as an example of the “dirty” BYU, after TWO cheap shots in the past. Perhaps the cheap shot they should remember is the Memphis player that started the Miami Beach Bowl brawl.)
Immediately what came to mind was: are you serious?! BYU hasn’t endangered the safety of a player…ever. Sure, they have gotten carried away a couple times on the football field, but last time I checked you were able to touch people in football.
