Los Angeles — BYU came out sloppy and never seriously threatened LMU all night, as the Cougars fell on the road, 76-69.
Turnovers were BYU’s achilles heel, as BYU lost the turnover battle, 16-7. Three-point shooting was rough as well, with BYU finishing a dismal 5-24 from distance.
LMU’s record was 6-15 on the year coming into the game, and they were last place in the WCC. With Gonzaga coming up on Saturday, BYU looked like they had the zags in the back of their minds the whole night.
One lone bright spot was Elijah Bryant’s performance, who got BYU within striking distance late despite taking a big shot to the head.
