This morning’s snow will give way to sunny skies on Sunday and Monday

By afternoon the rain and snow will have ended in Salt Lake Valley and the forecast calls for sunny skies by Sunday.

Most Wasatch Front areas received around a half inch of precipitation, while bench areas got closer to an inch. A couple of reporting stations in Cache County — Mendon and Wellsville — topped 1.3 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

Ski resorts reported new accumulations of up to 11 inches in the last 24 hours at Brighton and Snowbird. Alta and Snowbasin reported 9 new inches in 24 hours. Park City reported 5 inches.
