The next Jimmer? BYU Basketball offers scholarship to Glen Falls scoring phenom

New York has produced some legendary high school basketball players over the years. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Julius Erving, Stephon Marbury, Christian Laettner, Lance Stephonson, Sebastian Telfair, and BYU’s own Jimmer Fredette are just a few of the players that played high school ball in New York.

Joseph Girard III, however, is on pace to outscore all of them and become New York’s all-time leading high school scorer. And he could follow another Glen Falls legend to Provo.

The Glen Falls, New York product received a scholarship offer yesterday to play basketball at BYU.

The 2019 prospect hails from the same high school as Jimmer Fredette, and has drawn comparisons with his scoring and 3-point prowess.
