Utah got everything it needed out of dual-threat quarterback Tyler Huntley, as he and a stingy defense carried the Utes to a 19-13 win over the BYU Cougars at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday night.
Scoring recap
Utah failed to capitalize on some excellent field positions and had to settle for a 21-yard field goal from Matt Gay. The drive started at the BYU 9-yard line thanks to a 29-yard interception return from Boobie Hobbs, but three run plays netted just 6 yards before the kick.
The Utes pushed their lead to 6-0 when Gay hit another short field goal in the second quarter.
