LAS VEGAS — It was a bizarre game, but in the end No. 22 Utah fended off in-state foe BYU 35-28 to win the Las Vegas Bowl.
Utah capped off the season 10-3, while BYU ended with a 9-4 record.
Scoring recap: The Utes got on the board first, when Joe Williams punched in a 1-yard touchdown run with 10:59 left in the first quarter. The drive was set up by a Kylie Fitts forced fumble by BYU’s Tanner Mangum and Gionni Paul recovered the ball.
