PROVO — When BYU freshman quarterback Tanner Mangum returned home from his LDS mission to Chile last June, he noticed at least one significant change in the program.
“I could feel there was a difference from when I was here before my mission,” Mangum said. “I think a lot of that came from the senior leadership. When I left they were sophomores. But when I came back, there was a different feel throughout the team. A lot of it started with them. Their leadership, the way they handled the workouts, the player-run practices, and the way they kept everyone united and together, there was a huge difference.
