BYU won in Moraga for the first time since 2014 and snapped a 6-game road losing streak to the Gaels in a 62-52 win over Saint Mary’s. BYU was behind for a majority of the game, but the Cougars ended the game on a 17-2 run to take down the Gaels.
BYU won this game with defense and absolutely stifled SMC down the stretch. St Mary’s went up 50-45 with 10:36 left and scored only two points the rest of the way. After those points, BYU had a stretch with 12 straight defensive stops and didn’t allow the Gaels to score until 45 seconds left in the game.
