A 1-yard touchdown run by running back Branden Oliver on a 4th-and-1 play allowed the Stallions to top the Arizona Hotshots 23-15 in Salt Lake’s first home game ever Saturday afternoon at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
In need of a second-half spark, the Stallions immediately got one from middle linebacker Greer Martini, who picked off the first play of the second half and returned it to the Arizona 7-yard line. Oliver eventually punched it in from 1-yard out to take a 15-9 lead.
The Stallions stomped out of the gate against Arizona. Kicker Taylor Bertolet drilled a 53-yard field goal early in the first quarter, the first points ever scored by the Stallions at home at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
