The Salt Lake Bees launched their franchise-record 186th home run of the season on Sunday night, but it wasn’t enough to prevent an 8-2 Pacific Coast League loss to the New Orleans Baby Cakes at Smith’s Ballpark.
Michael Hermosillo’s solo shot in the bottom of the sixth inning was the record breaker, putting the 2019 Bees past the 2000 Salt Lake Buzz team for the most single-season home runs in franchise history with 186 with 30 games remaining in the season.
Matt Ball (0-2) started on the mound for Salt Lake and was tagged with the loss.
