Former BYU linebacker Kyle Van Noy will be lining up in a new defense soon.
ESPN first reported Tuesday that Van Noy is being traded to the New England Patriots from the Detroit Lions in his third NFL season. He was a second-round pick by the Lions in the 2014 NFL draft.

Van Noy is enjoying his most successful season as a pro after two mostly middling seasons in Detroit's 4-3 defensive scheme, including a rookie year cut in half by injury.
