An 18-year-old Provo man was killed when the truck he was driving rolled over— reportedly after it collided with another vehicle while the two were racing.
Eric E. Blackham was ejected from his 1975 Ford pickup truck and died at the scene, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
According to a UHP news release, witnesses said Blackburn’s truck and a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado were both traveling north on State Road 147 about 5:15 p.m. when “the driver of the Chevy pulled up alongside the driver of the Ford.” The witnesses told UHP “there appeared to be a mutual racing-type occurrence between the two vehicles,” and that as the two vehicles accelerated “a side swipe crash occurred.
