Interstate 15 was closed in both directions during rush hour Monday while police negotiated with a man with a gun on the freeway.
The highway shut down in both directions about 5:30 p.m. near 650 North in Clearfield, where the man positioned himself, dispatchers reported. Traffic was backed up for several miles in both directions as of 7:30 p.m., state transportation cameras showed.
Dispatchers did not have information as to why the man was on the highway. No shots had been reported fired as of 7:30 p.m.
