PROVO — It’s not easy replacing BYU's best run-stopper — nose tackle Travis Tuiloma.
Just ask his replacement, senior defensive lineman Logan Taele. “It’s been a little difficult,” he said. “It’s a different feel going in at nose.”
But then Taele is no stranger to difficult situations.
When Tuiloma suffered a knee injury in the season-opener at Nebraska, it created a huge void. In coach Bronco Mendenhall’s 3-3-5 scheme, strong nose tackle play is vital. In addition to stopping the run, the nose tackle needs to take on multiple blockers.
