Brigham Young's Brock Hale (44) and Keaton Kringlen (17) score on a double by Bronson Larsen (14), putting the Cougars up 4-0, at Smith's Ballpark in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
SALT LAKE CITY — BYU hit almost half of its hits — six — against Utah in the final inning, as the Cougars scored four runs in the ninth to beat the rival Utes 11-6 on Tuesday night at Smith’s Ballpark.
Bolstered by an offensive surge to start the game — BYU led 7-2 after one and a half innings — the ninth-inning fireworks proved more than enough for the Cougars after they had just two hits and no runs in the six previous innings.
