No. 42 BYU men's tennis upsets No. 24 San Diego, 4-3 in WCC play

PROVO, Utah – The No. 42 BYU men’s tennis team claimed a 4-3 upset victory over West Coast Conference foe No. 24 San Diego on Saturday.

“My heart is full,” head coach Brad Pearce said. “It was just an incredible team effort. We talked about fighting like dragons and, you know, we did that today. I just couldn’t be more proud of these guys.”

The Cougars (15-3, 5-1 WCC) came back after losing at No. 3 doubles to claim the first point after wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. No. 44 doubles pair Sean Hill and Jeffrey Hsu downed San Diego’s Nico Borter and Gui Osorio in a quick 6-1 match.
