No. 11 BYU women’s volleyball beat St. Mary’s on Thursday night at the Smith Fieldhouse, sweeping the Gaels in three straight sets (25-15, 25-11, 25-13).
The Cougars were never really threatened in the match. The Gaels kept it tight in the first set through the first few points, but BYU was too much for St. Mary’sand won each set comfortably.
McKenna Miller led the Cougars with 12 kills, and Heather Gneiting added 9 more. Freshman setter Whitney Bower had 24 assists.
Mary Lake was everywhere on the court, per usual. Her impressive dig on this play gave the Cougars a point early in the match.
