STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The top-seeded BYU men's volleyball team will have another shot at the national championship after beating No. 4 seed Long Beach State 25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18 in the NCAA tournament semifinals on Thursday at Penn State.
It's the fifth time the Cougars have advanced to the national championship match. BYU won the title in 1999, 2001 and 2004, while being runner-up in 2003 and 2013.
BYU will play the winner of the other semifinal between Ohio State and UCLA in the national championship on Saturday at 6 p.m. MDT on ESPN2. The Buckeyes and Bruins are playing in the nightcap semifinal.
