NCAA softball: Utah rallies past BYU in dramatic fashion

SALT LAKE CITY — It came down to a pinch hitter scoring a pinch runner in the bottom of the seventh inning for Utah softball team to complete the 3-2 comeback victory over BYU in the NCAA Regional semifinals.

Trailing 2-1 going into the final inning, the Utes' rally started when Bridget Castro singled into left. She tied the game on the strength of a double by Heather Bowen. With the score tied and the winning run on second, Aubrey Peterson was brought in to pinch runner and advanced to third after a fielder's choice. Pinch hitter Hailey Hilburn hit a blooper into center to score the winning run.
