NBCUniversal announced in December that it had reached an agreement to buy full-power station KTMW-Channel 20 in Salt Lake City and three low-power stations — KULX-CD in Ogden, K17II-LD in Logan and KULU-LD in Park City — from Serestar Communications. The $21 million deal includes three low-power stations in Sacramento and Stockton, Calif.
In addition, NBCUniversal terminated its agreement with Serestar to operate the local Telemundo station it already owned, KEJT-CD in Salt Lake City. All five Utah TV stations will now be operated by the Telemundo Station Group. (Telemundo is owned by NBCUniversal.)
“Working together with our sister NBC stations to serve all audiences, including bilingual viewers, we look forward to continuing to super-serve Hispanics in Salt Lake City .
