GLENDALE, Arizona — In college football, opening games often have a mysterious quality.
Well, mystery abounds in the Cactus Kickoff Classic at University of Phoenix Stadium, where BYU and Arizona collide Saturday (8:30 p.m. MDT, FS1).
There are plenty of unknowns going into this showdown.
While the Cougars have a new coaching staff and will be unveiling a new offense and a new defense, the Wildcats have a new defensive coordinator and a new defensive scheme. Oh, and Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez still hasn’t named a starting quarterback.
“Only one can take the snap going out,” Rodriguez said.
