The first College Football Playoff rankings for the 2015 season were released Tuesday, and the University of Utah came in at No. 12.
What does this mean for the Utes' postseason outlook? ESPN's David Lombardi examined the chances that Stanford (ranked No. 11) and Utah have of being in the Playoff's four-team field.
Of the Utes, Lombardi opines that their schedule is manageable the rest of the way, but he's concerned that they've struggled over the last two weeks and that this Saturday's opponent, Washington, is playing well right now.
"Like Stanford, the Utes will be rooting for the teams playing against that laundry list of clubs ranked ahead of them," Lombardi writes.
