McCluskey family hires former Utah Supreme Court Justice Christine Durham to help them sue the University of Utah

Powerhouse attorney Christine Durham — a former Utah Supreme Court chief justice who spent her career examining ingrained discrimination against women and bias in the legal process — will join the legal team representing the parents of slain track star Lauren McCluskey.

The McCluskeys are suing the University of Utah for ignoring McCluskey’s repeated reports of harassment before she was killed.

The addition was announced Monday after Durham formally signed on as a lawyer in the case. During a news conference, she said she’s deeply committed to the case and believes it represents “a profound injustice.
