Orem officers fatally shot a man on Friday after he reportedly came at them with a knife in his hands, according to a news release from the police department.
Police were called to the house near 80 N. Paradise Drive about 3 p.m. because of a reported “family problem,” the release states.
Soon after the officers arrived at the home, the man allegedly came at them. One officer tried to shock the man with a stun gun, but that didn’t work. Both officers then fired at the man, hitting him.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
