The Cougars got more good news mid-morning Wednesday when West Jordan defensive lineman Alden Tofa picked BYU over Utah and Oregon. Tofa told reporters that he was a Utah lean two weeks ago but changed his mind two days ago after developing a strong relationship with BYU defensive coordinator Ilaisa Tuiaki. Tofa is a three-star recruit according to most recruiting services.
In the first hour of Signing Day, BYU got a commitment from Hunter High defensive end Lorenzo Fauatea, but lost out on East High defensive end Jordan Lolohea, who picked Washington over the Cougars and Utah Utes.
