As I consider my part of this wonderful Christmas gift to the American people, I applaud the accuracy of the Tax Policy Center estimate of the effects of the legislation as applied to the various income levels of the citizenry, and as published in The Tribune back in December 2017. They missed my amount by $1.30. That being said, I assume their estimates overall are pretty accurate.
This leads to the realization that, roughly speaking, an income earner making 20 times what I make (who doesn’t really need any tax break) gets a tax reduction 80 times the amount I am receiving.
