Many Utah citizens are rightfully upset with the Utah Legislature overriding of the popular vote results on Propositions 2 and 3. However, concluding that this means one’s vote does not matter is not correct.
If your legislators did not vote per the clear will of the people, especially as expressed within their districts, it is your responsibility to vote them out of office and put in someone who is truly representative. That is the true power of the ballot box, and you cannot exercise that power if you abstain.
