Police shot a Layton man Saturday morning, ending a three hour negotiation period where the drunk man fired shots inside and out in front of his home.
The 44-year-old man told police he was suicidal and wanted them to shoot him. His name is not yet being released.
Layton police were first alerted to the situation at 11:30 p.m. Friday, Lt. Travis Lyman said. A young woman called to report that her relative was intoxicated and suicidal. She was on her way to his home, but wanted police to come as well, Lyman said.
Police were first to get to the home near 1950 N.
