Team Utah's Tim Drisdom celebrates after hitting the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds remaining in Team Utah's 100-97 win over Team Fredette in the first round of The Basketball Tournament on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas.
Yet another exciting chapter in the Utah-BYU rivalry was written Saturday night under interesting circumstances.
The first round of The Basketball Tournament, the annual 64-team, $2 million prize competition played in venues across the country, pitted 7-seeded Team Utah (comprised primarily of former Runnin' Utes) against 10-seeded Team Fredette (featuring many former BYU Cougars) at Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas, and, naturally, had a crazy finish.
