LAS VEGAS — Tevin Carter and Dominique Hatfield each returned interceptions for touchdowns, and Joe Williams has two touchdown runs as No. 22 Utah leads BYU 35-7 at the half in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Utah forced five turnovers in the first nine minutes of the first quarter, which led to all 35 of its points.
The Utes got on the board first, when Joe Williams punched in a 1-yard touchdown run with 10:59 left in the first quarter. The drive was set up by a Kylie Fitts forced fumble of BYUs Tanner Mangum and Gionni Paul recovered the ball.
