After deliberating over seven days, a federal jury on Monday afternoon has reached a verdict in the trial of former real estate guru Rick Koerber, who is accused of illegal business dealings and running a Ponzi scheme.
The decision comes after weeks of evidence in Salt Lake City’s U.S. District Court — including seven days of testimony from Koerber himself. The 12-member panel had deliberated approximately 45 hours as of the end of Saturday and resumed their discussion at 7:30 a.m. Monday. The jurors sent word at about 3:15 p.m. that they had reached a verdict.
The trial has lasted eight weeks.
