The Jazz plan to sign David Stockton, the son of Hall of Famer John Stockton, to a 10-day contract, league sources tell The Salt Lake Tribune. Stockton had been playing in the G-League for the Reno Big Horns.
The signing coincides with a potential injury issue for starting point guard Ricky Rubio, who is listed as questionable for Saturday night’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings with a knee contusion. If Rubio doesn’t play, Dante Exum likely becomes Utah’s starting point guard for a night in just his second game back from injury.
The 6-foot Stockton played at Gonzaga, where he followed in his father’s footsteps.
