In sexual harassment lawsuit, woman says Utah trooper used his authority to stalk her

A Utah County woman has sued a Utah Highway Patrol trooper for sexual harassment, saying he hounded her with unwanted sexually charged text messages and used his position and authority to stalk her.

Heather Leyva filed the lawsuit against Sgt. Blaine Robbins on Wednesday morning in Utah’s U.S. District Court. Robert Sykes, Leyva’s attorney, says he will hold a news conference Wednesday morning to discuss the lawsuit.

Leyva is an employee of West Coast Towing, which was one of three towing companies receiving jobs from UHP between January 2017 and June. UHP was required to rotate towing jobs through the three companies without giving preferential treatment.
