Though this hasn't been a banner season for the BYU football team, the Cougars are getting a lot of respect from oddsmakers heading into their Potato Bowl matchup with Western Michigan.
As Chadd Cripe of the Idaho Statesman pointed out, BYU is one of only four teams to be favored by double digits this bowl season. The other three are powerhouses Alabama, Georgia and Clemson.
"BYU is favored by 12.5 points over Western Michigan in Boise’s 22nd annual bowl game Friday at Albertsons Stadium — but good luck figuring out why," Cripe wrote. "The Cougars (6-6) did beat Arizona and Wisconsin and nearly stunned Boise State and Utah.
