Fox News apologizes after implicating U.S. senator in the murder of University of Utah student

The Fox News Channel was forced to apologize for its report on the murder of University of Utah student Lauren McCluskey, which incorrectly identified the suspected killer as a United States senator.

As anchorwoman Jillian Mele told viewers that “the suspect, Melvin Rowland, was found dead after shooting himself,” not one but two different pictures of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) were displayed onscreen, with text reading “suspect dead after killing student on campus.”

Good morning. Fox News has already issued a correction for using a picture of a Democratic senator to accompany a story about a suspected murderer.
