For much of the game, Jimmer Fredette and his Team Fredette squad had to scrape and claw back from an early hole against the Peoria Allstars on Saturday in first-round action of The Basketball Tournament.
Fredette’s team, the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Regional, finally took control down the stretch, though, and emerged with an 88-80 victory over the No. 15 seed Allstars at the Capital Center in Columbus, Ohio, to advance to Sunday’s second round in the annual 72-team, $2 million prize competition.
“We did a good job clamping down and taking over in the fourth quarter, making big shots,” Fredette said in a postgame interview on ESPN.
