SALT LAKE CITY — Former BYU running back Riley Burt is headed closer to his Mantua home to finish his college career.
Burt announced on Twitter early Wednesday that he’s headed to Utah State, sharing a photo of himself in Aggie gear.
The former Box Elder High star submitted his name to the NCAA Transfer Portal following the 2018 season and will be a graduate transfer.
Burt, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound back, rushed for 323 yards and two touchdowns on 59 carries as a junior for the Cougars last season, his best year in Provo. His best game in a BYU uniform came in his final one, when he rushed for 110 yards and a score on 13 carries in the Cougars’ 49-18 win over Western Michigan in the Idaho Potato Bowl.
