For Daniel Summerhays, having 30 family members on hand all week at the Masters has been no distraction

AUGUSTA, Ga. — For the Summerhays family, it’s been a family affair all week with nearly 30 family members sharing three houses about 15 minutes from Augusta National Golf Club.

When Daniel Summerhays qualified for the Masters last July by finishing fourth in the PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Course in New Jersey, his family immediately went about planning for their first trip to the Masters.

All of Daniel’s six siblings are here, along with his wife Emily and their four children, his parents Lynn and Ann and assorted in-laws and nephews and nieces.

It’s been a challenge managing the tickets — each player is allowed eight tickets and is allowed to buy four more — but everyone has had a chance to see plenty of action at Augusta National since Tuesday.
