First-time BYU football coaches to rely on advice from, experiences with, established coaches

Ty Detmer, Ilaisa Tuiaki and Ed Lamb have either played with, coached with or been influenced by successful coaches during their respective careers. And they plan to take advantage of that fact.

PROVO — BYU’s new football coaching staff, which is still in the process of being assembled, features a first-time head coach, Kalani Sitake, and first-time coordinators, Ty Detmer and Ilaisa Tuiaki.

Assistant head coach Ed Lamb, who was the coach at Southern Utah before joining BYU’s staff, is the only one on the staff with college head coaching experience.
