The co-owner of Washakie Renewable Energy plead guilty to charges Friday in what the government has called a massive biofuel fraud, and the pleas could have reprocussions for the polygamous sect to which he belongs.
Jacob Kingston pleaded guilty to 41 charges Friday, according to a court docket. The docket gave no information about his four co-defendants. All five were scheduled to go to trial July 29.
Federal prosecutors earlier in the week filed an intent to seize dozens of homes, businesses and other properties from rank-and-file members of the Davis County Cooperative Society, also known as the Kingston Group or The Order.
