Oh, no, here we go again.
The College Football Playoff selection committee released its first poll of the season this week. It restarted all the old arguments about which team deserves and doesn’t deserve its place in the rankings. The current debate focuses primarily on Alabama, which is ranked among the coveted top four spots — which means if the season ended tomorrow the Crimson Tide would participate in the four-team national playoff.
Alabama is ranked No. 4 by the 12 people who make up the CFP committee, but No. 7 by everyone else — the coaches poll, the Associated Press poll and the NCAA College Football Power Rankings.
