Dixie State volleyball: DSU names former BYU player David Richards as new assistant coach

Dixie State University head women’s volleyball coach Robyn Felder recently announced the hiring of David Richards as a new assistant coach. Richards brings decades of playing and coaching experience to the Trailblazer program.

Richards played collegiate volleyball at BYU under head coach Carl McGown and was a member of the United States Men’s National Team from 1978-80. Following his playing career, he served as USA Men’s Paralympic head coach, USA Volleyball Youth Camps director and, along with his late wife Lori, coached the Utah Valley University women’s volleyball program for 11 seasons.

In addition, Richards was the head men’s club volleyball coach at UVU and the founder and coach of Players VBC in Utah, Idaho and Northern California.
