The ratings have been very good for the half-hour show aimed at tweens, so it would have been a surprise if it didn’t get picked up for another season. But cast members Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Lilan Bowden, Joshua Rush, Sofia Wylie and Asher Angel were, nonetheless, seemingly astonished when the renewal was announced by series creator/executive producer Terri Minsky on “Good Morning America” on Monday.
“A series about a girl discovering that her sister is really her mother was new territory for Disney Channel, but Terri’s honest, authentic storytelling allowed our audience to connect deeply to these characters and their journeys of self-discovery,” he said.
