As of Monday evening, 58 flights in and out of the Salt Lake City International Airport were canceled, according to Nancy Volmer, the airport’s spokeswoman.
“Throughout the day, [the fog] came and went” before dissipating enough to stop disrupting flights at 5:30 p.m., Volmer said.
On Monday, four outbound flights were canceled, as were seven inbound flights, Volmer said. One flight was diverted to Provo, she said. On Sunday, 27 outbound flights and 20 inbound flights were canceled.
About 20 other flights heading into Salt Lake City on Sunday were diverted to Provo, St. George and airports in surrounding states, according to Volmer.
