Daniel Summerhays' first round at the Masters on Thursday morning was highlighted by a near ace, as the former BYU golfer carded a 2-over 74 in Augusta, Ga.
Summerhays hit a shot off the tee to within about a foot of the hole on No. 12 and finished with a birdie on the par-3 hole.

The Utah native carded three birdies in the round but also had four bogeys, including back-to-back bogeys on 16 and 17 that pushed Summerhays over-par on the day.
