Provo • BYU has struggled to score in the fourth quarter since posting 10 points against USC to force overtime. The Cougars gave up 14 points to Toledo, 13 to South Florida and 15 to Boise State.
So far this season, BYU has been outscored 69-22 in the fourth quarter. But that changed against in-state rival Utah State.
The Cougars won the fourth quarter 7-0, but really it was a dominating second half that put the game away, outscoring the Aggies 21-0 in the final two quarters.
Coach Kalani Sitake had no clear answer for his team’s full-game performance that lead the Cougars to beating their in-state rival Utah State 42-14 in Logan to regain possession of the Wagon Wheel.
