In a bid to raise money to promote hunting rights and the removal of protection for predator species, a new group co-founded by Utahn Don Peay is selling $10 tickets for a chance to spend five days with Donald Trump Jr. on a guided elk hunt in Utah.
Hunter Nation recently posted the foray with the president’s son among its “Dream Hunt Sweepstakes,” billing Trump Jr. as a “modern-day Teddy Roosevelt,” the Republican president closely associated with the rise of conservation in the United States more than a century ago.
Both Trump Jr. and Roosevelt are also known for a shared love of trophy hunting, a practice today that provokes controversy and derision in some quarters.
