East High School has been churning out top collegiate football talent for a while now, with top local and out-of-state programs reaping the benefits. BYU has been one of those programs tapping into the Leopard pipeline and has recently received notable talents such as former East tight end Joe Tukuafu and running back Ula Tolutau.
Tukuafu opted to transfer to BYU from Utah State following his two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, while Tolutau did the same after signing with Wisconsin prior to his mission service. Both players have had standout moments during BYU's spring practice session — particularly Tolutau, who has received a lot of reps running the football.
