Returning to an event she says is one of her favorites, the Miners junior standout cruised to more than a 3-second victory in the 200-yard individual medley on Day 1. She swam the 200 and 500 freestyles and won both at last year’s state meet. Beller, who took second in the event as a freshman, finished in 2 minutes, 9.16 seconds to beat the 2:12.93 by Orem’s Addison Richards.
After finishing fourth in the 100 freestyle last year, he went shorter and quicker this year.
